Allow quoted filenames in "Select Files or Folders"
Windows visual diff and merge for files and directories

Windows 7 and above automatically quote file paths when you hold ctrl + shift, right click on a file, and select "Copy as Path". It would be very nice if WinMerge accepted these paths instead of displaying "Both Paths are Invalid".
Note that "Both Paths are Invalid" is displayed even when one path has the quotation marks removed.
Thank you!

Included in version 2011.003.523.
Seems like this was somewhat of a partial fix or Jochen didn't fully understand the issue. I am running ver. 2.14.0.0 and the fix works when copying and pasting the quoted path in the "File name" edit box in the "Open" dialog but not when copying and pasting directly into the "Left" or "Right" edit boxes in the "Select Files or Folders" dialog. I think WinMerge should be smart enough to handle double quoted paths here as well by either stripping them on blur or ignoring them. -S
The issue was addressed in WinMerge 2011 as per the commit which I was referring to.
WinMerge 2.x does not adopt changes from WinMerge 2011 on a regular basis.
This particular change looks like a candidate for WinMerge 2.16, but there is no evidence that WinMerge 2.16 will happen in finite time. The plan seems to just have ended.
It would be really nice if this feature could be added to the WinMerge 2.x branch.
I often copy file paths on Windows 10 by Shift + Right Click -> Copy as path, and currently WinMerge won't let me compare the files until I remove the double quotes from the beginning and end of both file paths. I'm aware of the WinMerge command from the Windows Explorer context menu, but that doesn't work when the files that I want to compare are in different folders.
